Southeast Community Services (SECS)

Mission

Working together to serve, strengthen and support neighbors in southeast Indianapolis.

Overview

SECS entire organization operates as a Center for Working Families (CWF), providing low-income, working families with services across four areas: financial literacy and coaching, employment and career advancement, education coaching, and income and barrier busting support. The organization has been facilitating a Family Success Coaching model for the past 3 years, integrating trauma-informed care practices through a whole-family, multi-generational approach with customized financial and employment plans based on individual and family needs. While helping to strengthen family units, SECS also helps parents/caregivers identify and pursue career goals, develop employment skills, and learn to reduce debt, build credit, save for their future, and navigate complex public benefit programs. They also work with youth in the family to increase success in school, progress to the next grade, participate in afterschool activities, and stay in the same school for the entire year.
