Empowering Youth Through Agriculture

We were so excited to hear that the D.R.E.A.M. Alive and Felege Hiywot Center teams came together to create this experience for their scholars!

During this visit, youth were able to dive into the world of agriculture and its profound impact on our planet. Scholars walked away with knowledge pertaining to composting, veggie gardening, and a list of which plants thrive right here in Indy!

D.R.E.A.M. Alive is committed to building servant leaders by giving youth opportunities to discover their community, grow in character, and achieve their dreams. The scholars visit to the Felege Hiywot center provided an opportunity to explore what a career-path in horti/agriculture may look like, while also building upon helpful everyday skills/knowledge.

Felege Hiywot Center strongly believes in empowering youth through farming, and this visit was a perfect example of their mission in action. One of the Center’s program participants, Elijah, was able to share his incredible journey with the group, offering invaluable advice to his peers. He encouraged them to stay true to themselves, discover what makes their learning style unique, and always strive towards becoming authentic leaders.

Seeing our grantee partners come together to empower and enrich the lives of our youth fills us with so much pride and joy.
